I was playing a gig tonight and the TV in the bar was on. On the channel with the Mets game there was some sort of break called "Sound Check " I think that did a whole thing on RR. Cutting from him talking and playing a Seirra pedalsteel to some baseball players. I couldn't tell what was going on because I was in the middle playing a loud gig while trying to figure out what was happening on the TV.

Anybody know what that was ?

I caught that Bob. ESPN does a deal on the Sunday Night Baseball telecast where they interview a musician about their interest in baseball. RR was talking about how big a NY Mets fan he is and how excited he was about them bringing in Pedro Martinez and Carlos Beltran this year.

There were some good clips of him playing, and he mentioned that he, quote: "grew up in chruch playing slide pedal steel." I also saw the close up on the fretboard which clearly said Sierra. And I think there were some shots of his Fessy also.

It's a pretty good segment and great exposure for PSG and RR.

More national exposure for a great player of our beloved contraption ! I wonder how many millions of people saw and heard a pedalsteel for the first time sunday.

I must admit I have big problems with the Met fan thing though.....

Assuming you're a Yankee fan at this point, I won't take the conversation any further

I might add that RR appeared to be an intelligent, articulate, up-beat kind of guy.

i am a big RR fan..now the mets? well! RR is a stand up sort of fellow, with deep religious roots. A true credit to our instrument. New visions for a new generation
of Pedal Steel Guitarist. Go Robert!
