If anybody out there has any doubt about just how much they have yet to learn about playing steel, they need to send $15.00 to:

Buck Reid,
630 Oldham Road
Hartsville,
TN 37074

There are just too many high-points to mention in this masterwork. Flawless speed-picking, great dynamics, and beautiful all-round musicianship (what about that outro on 'In The Garden'?)

It's been a long wait for his CD, but Buck has just 'raised the bar'!

Ain't it great, John? I have to give this thread a quick 'bump' - every new steel guitar should come with a copy of this CD ('How it should be done....')

How fitting that Randy should respond to this thread.

I've been drawing a comparison between steel players and golfers, and I've come to the conclusion that Tommy White, Randy Beavers and now Buck Reid are the new Big Three....(remember Palmer, Nicklaus and Player?)

TW, RB and Buck have released recent CDs that defy description - and they're permanently on my car's player.

(Of course, Buddy Emmons is PSG's Ben Hogan.....)

Great CD! Great playing all the way around.I became a Buck Reid fan back in the early 80's, when Buck was playing with john Anderson. They did a show at the club where I was playing in the house band at the time. Buck you blew my mind then and you continue to do so with this CD.
Roger, I agree with you on the New Big Three.
