Remember the sounds of Pete Drake way back when he used the C6th tuning with the high G and the Pedal 6 and 7 changes?
I have not had C6th on my guitar for several years and just reinstated it this week. Wrote a little tune with Pete in mind and found out that his simple little things are really not that simple when you try to play like him. Here's a link to "Another Flower"
Dubbed in bass on the C6th low strings and
the auto harp sound using natural harmonics at the 12th fret.
Hope it is of interest to some Forum Members. http://members.cox.net/loveridehd/AnotherFlower.mp3

Pete Drake hit the scene with this sound in about '61. I remember the hit "I'll Sail My Ship Alone" by Moon Mulligan and other recordings like "Diggy Diggy Low"(? for spelling) by Rusty & Doug using this style that was simple but very pretty. |

Very nice playing Roy. Sometimes simplicity is the key to good music. Very clean. Thank you, Ray |

Makes me remember why I always went back to the high G string on the C6th. I slip in some Pete Drake licks when I get a chance. Mainly the one w/high G. Very nice playing. |
