Joni Harms and Jason Barlow told me they played with a Scotsman on some dates last summer. They said he was a good steel player and a "real character."

I'm sure they meant that in a good way....

Will the "real" character please stand up?

Is Donny Johnstone a Forum member. I met him in Coatbridge when he was with Trampus.
I was just starting out and he let me sit at his axe. I won't expound, holey socks and all that.
Cheers, Arch.

Hey Chippy I am from Wisconsin. If I was from Scotland I would have wear a green and gold kilt with a number 4 on it. Besides I already know Al from a few years back. Quite a player.

Hi Archie, don't think Donny is forum member, but he is going over to Drogheda with myself, Willie Gamble, and Fiona Tomnay.Hope to see you there.
Dave don't know who steel player was , but think it might have been Davie Holland.I have not worked for that particular artist ,but have worked with quite a few American artists including Laura Cantrell,Ben Vaughan, John Herald, Chip Taylor, Kevin Montgomery,Tom Armstrong, as well as providing the support act to Dale Watson, BR549, The Mavericks, Robbie Foulkes ,The Flatlanders , all great guys to work with .Regards MALCOLM

Thanks to John Davis for the kind words. I think the player Dave Grafe was talking about was my wee pal Davie Holland - a terrific player. Thanks also Al Udeen for thinking of Scottish players. Add me to your list Al.

Hi Guys!

Yes it was me who toured with Joni and Heather. And what a laugh it was too, playing at Americana was a blast as always! I was supposed to work with Joni again this year, but between moving house, and my own bands` commitments (Evangeline), I could only manage a few dates. I think Cliff Weston was given the call in my absence but not sure.
If you wanna contact me, make sure you put PEDAL STEEL in the subject, as my spam filter is ruthless!
My homepage is [URL=http://www.davieholland.plus.com[/URL]
where there are photos of some of the gigs.

Hope this helps, and I`m interested in what you have in mind Al.

Cheers
Davie Holland
