Dave,

You beat me to the punch, Drew. I caught most of the show before I had to take off for work. The sound guys got a great mix out to us in TV Land and Dave actually got a little "face time", too.

HI Dave, I heard your name twice; once when Buddy introduced the band and again when Don Imus asked which of the band were in the original group. Do you play an extended E-9, and how much does that guitar weigh in the case? Thanks |

Hi Charles, yes, I play an extended E9. It depends on which case I take out, but you can check the Carter website for weight in the original case. All that I can say, is that it is one of THEE lightest weighing, but great sounding guitars out there. Plus, when I set it up for the Imus show, I didn't have to touch any of the tuners. It was still in tune from the last gig I did in Florida two days prior! PLUS, I flew it to New York!!! No kidding!!!!

Don Imus also said that the, "steel guitar was in tune", indicating an interest if you will. We just went on a trip and my D10 is a little heavy for me to manage at this point and I really missed doing a little picking each day but when we got back it sounded like heaven. |

Dave, would you tell Rich Lloyd that reports of my death have been greatly exagerrated and that I have misplaced his phone number. Ask him to call me on my cell 903-879-5092.
Thanks

Billy, yes, hopefully next time you get near Nashville, I will be there with time to spare. I need to get back into that Mullen.
George, I e-mailed Rich your number.
Imus is a hoot. He really likes Buddy Jewell and was very nice to us. What a cool news studio they have there. I skimmed through some of the songs when I got home and noticed the steel was almost off on the first song, but after that it got better. No biggie, I am just happy we all got to play.
Later,
Dave |
