Friday I'm with my duo the Planet Riders, then sitting in with Ralph Roddenbery, and closing out with a jam with Pete Grant and Joe Craven at Jake's in Atlanta. Saturday Noon it's the Planet Riders on the main stage at the Atlanta Dogwood Festival, then at 5:30 Joe and Pete will be joining me and the Code Talkers for a Vassar Clements Tribute set (He'll be there in spirit, I know!). Joe and Pete are two of the biggest monsters I know- check out their sites- and I'll be having a blast. Sunday it's session time here in the studio. http://www.joecraven.com/ http://www.petegrant.com/flash_index.html http://www.jakesroadhouse.net/

I'm playing some blues pedal steel with Byard Lancaster and the Blues Messengers as the last of about a dozen acts in The Brotherly Love All-Star Show at the new WXPN World Cafe Live in West Philly (http://www.worldcafelive.com). This is billed as "a night of Philadelphia memories," and features Charlie Gracie, The Original Orlons, The Soul Survivors, Stewkey's Naz, Dexter Wansel, Gil Saunders, Rufus Harley (jazz bagpipes), Kenn Kweder, Linda Cohen & Michael Kac, Nik Everett, Skip Denenberg, Johnny Crescendo and other special guests. A film is being made of the show. It should be quite a night. I hope I don't drop my bar on camera. |
