Check the Cinema Bar at 3967 Sepulveda Blvd. just South of Venice Blvd. in Culver City, 310-390-1328, Monday, March 28.
Gary Brandin has been playing there on Monday nights with Patty Booker and her band. Lisa Finney has been opening for them and she is definitely worth seeing as well. The fun usually starts about 9:00 or 9:30 with Patty going on about 10:00 or 10:30.

other usual places in LA as far as country music are Viva Fresh in Burbank, Don and Cyn's in Lake View Terrace, Cowboy Palace in Chatsworth, The Roadhouse in Duarte, Murphy's in Simi Valley, the Doll Hut in Anaheim. You may want to check to see who's playing, though, and make sure they have a steel on a particular night. There's also often a bunch of stuff happening in Orange County.

Ah, that's too bad. I liked that place... I guess the location wasn't the greatest.
How are you Jim? |
