Sat Nite in a newly remodeled re-opening of a real nice club. A real bad rain storm came through on the second set, and the "new roof" started leaking like a sieve. Wet down everyone in the place except the band The LORD was looking out for us as the roof over the band stand was the only part that didn't leak. My friend Dr. Bobby Bowman had a similar experience at the Grimes County Fair. They were playing under a pavillion and the wind and rain wet the band and everyone else good. See you down the road. Well Jody......I wish you would send us some of that rain......its months now since we had any...the Trees are even bribing the dogs !!!!!!
One time we were playing a regular Sat Afternoon gig and got a downpour,,,,,we were under a canvas awning....which started to dip with the weight of the water...so my "Not so Bright guitar player: decided to to push it up to empty it...."Yeh.....Right !!!!!"......all over the amps and PA......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and we had an evening gig too................so it was .....You Bloody lot go inside the pub and finish the gig acoustic.............I'll take the stuff home and see Iff I can dry it with a hair drier...........the evening Gig was about two hours drive......well the hair drier worked.....got everyone there on time.....I busted about 5 11 guage strings just to get one on and in tune......and it was a Gig where the curtains opened with the band playing
Mr Cool? well I got through it...but I dont know how !!!!!!
A lot of our gigs were like this.....always something interesting happening!!!!

Hi Tony, hang in there. The hair dryer works great. Put one in your gig bag. See you down the road. Jody. |
