Just wanted to thank Paul Franklin for taking the time to talk and sign my guitar.
With his tight schedule he still took the time to be friendly and very helpfull.
He's a first class guy.

Jerry, if you ever talk with Paul's Dad and Mom on the phone it is obvious where it all came from. They are great folks for sure.

| I would like to say thanks to Paul for coming to the Texas show. I visited with him briefly and found him to be very kind. His mother and father were kind and I might say they are very proud of Paul and his accomplishments and justly so. They just look like a great family to me. |

I was sitting in the back row on Sunday afternoon. I saw Paul Franklin & his folks coming through with his equipment on a dolly. I just watched and smiled as they were approaching. As they were passing behind me, Paul Franklin Sr. put his hand on my shoulder and gave me a huge smile.
Families don't come any finer than that.
And when you attend the Dallas Show, it's almost like a family reunion.

Amen to all the above, a steel guitar genius, and world-class musician.
He has encouraged, inspired, and baffeled a whole generation of steel guitarists, much in the way the Mr. Emmons did.
Paul always takes time for people, and that is as much a lesson to learn from as his musicianship.
Sorry to chime in too much, but in my humble opinion, he is the Giant of my time,

Paul has gotten beat up on this Forum in the past, but I'm glad he's back. I met him once in Nashville and he was friendly as could be.
His participation in this Forum is one of the reasons it is a world-class resource.

Paul,if you read this thread I just wanted to thank you personaly for coming by with Hal and jammin so good in the RAINS booth for a while.Everyone surely enjoyed it to the max.I could hardly keep up digging out CD's for you two to play along with.Thanks again.

I have been at Paul Sr's House when Paul Jr came by and they are all wonderful people. Never had a time that Paul Sr and His wife were not just the best to talk to over any of my question's on my steelguitar.I have had it over 20 years and they can't be beat in my eye's.RS

I don't know Paul, except through the Forum, but it is an amazing experience to share his knowledge and perspective on things here. A number of times I've told people how much the Forum has benefited me, and part of that story is usually how the guy who plays on a significant percentage of the Nashville stuff they hear on the radio takes part in Forum discussions, just like everybody else.
Judging from the stuff he contributes here, I believe Paul's humility is genuine. I would imagine he also has determined that being any other way would just get in the way of what makes him the great musician he is.

| I finally got to meet Paul Franklin Jr...and was not disappointed. First of all his Mom and Dad are two of the nicest people (his Mom is just too much like my own mother) so i always look forward to seeing them. And Theresa, i have only seen a few times...but she did let me come over and mess her house up one afternoon with Gregg...she is the sweetest "perfume lady" you could ever meet. And Brian, i remember the 1st time i met him at the opry, i was just standing backstage, and he came over and introduced himself and Rosie to me, always enjoyed his visits. Well it took years but finally met "the renegade"... and yep, he is as great as the rest of the family. BTW, thanks for the grapefruit Paul, can honestly say i was "fruited by Franklin"...hope you come back to the Texas show again, its really like one big family there.
