I happened to catch this show show today and was wondering who the pretty young lady was that was playing the Emmons for the first half of the show. Also on the show was John Welch, Gene Watson, T.G Shepard, Lynn Anderson and John Conlee. This was taped in 2004 at the Mohican Northstar Casino in Wisconsin.

I haven't seen the show but Robin Ruddy plays quite a bit with Lynn Anderson, it might be her. Robin's also a fine dobro and banjo player.

This seemed to be a house band for the casino, but it could very well be her. She did jump onto the banjo once and seemed more at ease backing Lynn than she did TG and Welch. Watson and Conlee used their own bands.

I'll bet that was Robin Ruddy then; was it an old singleneck, rosewood Emmons? I think that's what she plays... And I'd be surprised if that casino had a house band that would back up the artists (not for a TV show), I would think more likely one of the singer's bands would back up a few of the other singers...

Robin's really talented on all her instruments and has played with a lot of name acts over the years. She also sings and writes songs AND runs a studio and publishing company here in Nashville with her husband Larry. I don't remember seeing her on the forum though (hard to see where she'd have time with all that going on!).

Actually she was playing either a D10 or an SD10. It was black and possibly a LeGrande as there was some kind of written logo in the lower right corner of the front apron as the LeGrande has. She was a very pretty blonde and looked to be in her early 30's to early 40's (of course I am a bad judge of age - heck, I still think I look 18 and I'm 50)
