Has anyone ever heard of a steel guitar builder by the name of Barry Thomas? Does anyone own one of his steels? Thanks-Michael |

I know of two Thomas Guitars. One is a 12 string that used to belong to Jeff Nesman and now belongs to a steeler friend about 50 miles south of me.
Another is an S-10 that another friend in Alton, MO (just east of West Plains) has.
Someone mentioned not too long ago that Barry Thomas was going to get back into the steel building, but I haven't seen anything else on it.[This message was edited by Jack Stoner on 06 March 2005 at 02:05 PM.] |

I've owned my Thomas for 10 years. I love it. I'm not interested in getting anything else, and I've felt that way from the very beginning. If there's one negative, it's the cabinet drop, which mine has quite a bit. But with a Truetone pickup, a Hilton, and black box trilogy happening, I'll give Thomas guitars a big thumbs up. And Barry's a good guy.

I own a thomas u12. I bought it used but was able to contact barry himself about the guitar and it's history. Supposedly he's setting up again to start building, so we should expect some news of this sort soon.
