Who played the steel part on this Shot Jackson dobro tune? Sounds like an 8 string C6 maybe. Pretty hot stuff. My first thought was BE but maybe not.

The tape is titled "That Dobro Sound is Going Round" and features cuts from various dobroists.

The original of "Hound Dog Blues" was on "The Singing Strings Of Steel Guitar and Dobro" album.(Starday Record # SLP 230) Buddy Emmons gets a credit on the back of the album as "Special Accompaniment". The album contains 14 songs. Of special note, the cover of the album features a pic of Shot standing behind a S-10,5 ped. Sho~Bud,& a Dobro. Whoever printed the album cover up,reversed the negative. The steel, now, becomes a "lefty". I'm surprised that they let it go through like that.

The album was,later,re-issued on the "Nashville" label,(NLP 2026) minus one song.("Texas Playboy Rag") However the title was changed to read,"The Steel Guitar and Dobro Sounds of Shot Jackson and Buddy Emmons". They got the cover pic right this time.
