I believe he does most, if not all, of his road shows without a steel player. I think Steve Hinson has been playing his Opry spots...

Opened for John once and his steel player's name was Rex. His wife played keyboard. Neat people. Probably not with him anymore. |

Well dang, Steve. He's playing the Llano Opry this Saturday in Llano, Tx. I was hoping I would get to hear a good Nashville steeler. I hope you'll be with him. If no steel, I guess I'll just have to listen to John sing. What other players are usually with him on the road? Thanks for the reply.

Dang Dave, you still around? I think you are refering to Rex Wiseman who has been with Clay Walker for several years now. Rex normally comes to town for the 3i show here in Garden City in April, at least he has the last couple of shows. |

Don,
His band is good. He will not have a steeler at the Llano show. His lead player
has a harmonizer in his rack guitar rig and comps the signature licks pretty well.
You will enjoy the show....I did.

I believe, way back when, that Terry Crisp played for Conlee. He may have even done the "Rose Colored Glasses" session. Yes or no? |

I pretended to be his steel player in one of his videos.
It was about 15 years ago, some song about a dog house. |

Buddy did the Rose Colored Glasses album. Not sure about the others. Ironically, I bought the LP because Buddy was listed on it, before I had ever heard of John Conlee.
