I am not a pedal player, however I really enjoyed a 10 minute documentary on Public TV (KSPS) which featured Dean Simmons of Seattle. Dean is a veteran of the steel guitar and this documentary took us through his life from non-pedal to pedal. If he happens to read this, I would like to congratulate him...the documentary was nothing less than excellent !!!

I seen the program also. Wish it had lasted the full 30 minutes. It said a lot about the PSG and a super player in a very short time.

Well, when you stop to think about it, the time allotted by PBS towards a steel guitarist was amazing in itself. How many shows of this type have we seen in the past ten years ? None that I can recall.

George yes I seen it too, but thats Dean Simmons from Spokane. Deans been around playing since the late 40's. Played his first gig in a bar when he was a minor and got caught. Had to quit the bars until be became of age. Didnt matter anyway, because in the early 50's he went to work teaching steel guitar at Hoffman Music Company in Spokane and has been there ever since. He has always played out with bands as well. He has a real good technique, and specializes in western swing and hawaiian. Duane Becker
