For all the folks on the "Steel Players" forum that don't often check the other forum s I thought someone should mention "Big" Jim Murphy's passing in Dallas the other day from cancer. There's a long thread started in the "Our Extended Family" part of the forum...

I have a story or two about hanging out with Big Murph in the 70's but I think I'd better keep 'em to myself!

Great player, great guy...

Jim was a person who could always put a smile on people faces. With his jokes or his music. If I knew him well enough I would say that Jim wouldn`t wont us to be sad,I`m sure he would want us to make a big steel Jam ,laugh and play a lots of music and talk about him.I loved Jim,I still do and I always will and I will miss him and remember him for the rest of my life. And then...We`ll meet again...
