I purchased a Gibson Ultratone-6 many years ago and when I see color photo's of other Ultratone's like mine they have gold knobs. My guitar has a gold color fret board, yellow top and a solid mahogany body; the three knobs are black with white numbers that are very similar to the Gibson gold ones where the numbers are visible from both top and side. Did Gibson use black knobs at one time? My guitar has a 1957 serial number. If the black knobs are not original, where can I get Gibson gold knobs?

Alvin, the best selection of knobs (and tuner buttons) I've come across is WD Parts.

Gruhn's Guide refers to the solid mahogany Ultratones (1956 - 59) as having "clay-colored" tuner buttons. Is that what you have?

Russ: Yes I have Clay-Colored Tuner Buttons, but the black knobs, I have never seen on a Ultratone. Thanks for the source of knobs
