Hey, you won’t hear this great music in heavy rotation on what passes for country radio these days (or maybe not on radio at all, sadly), but have y’all checked out:
Dan Dugmore on Steve Forbert’s latest album “Just Like there’s Nothing to It”, he’s all over the album, but I especially enjoy his solos on the opening cut “What It Is, Is a Dream” and Steve’s tribute song to Rick Danko, “Wild as the Wind” – signature Dan, so sweeet!
Also, Fats Kaplin on Jason Ringenberg’s (i.e. of Jason and the Scorchers) recent release “Empire Builders” - his stuff on the song “She Hung the Moon (Until It Died)" - Fats plays it Pretty with a Capital “P”, tone with a Capital “T”
Oh yeah, Marty Muse on Robert Earl Keen's disc "Farm Fresh Onions" - mighty fine!
Anybody else got some hidden gems they wanna share with me
