Im kind of an 8 track tape throwback as I have a Classic Muscle car which has an 8 track player. I tape music for cruise-ins, etc. While listening to a tape someone made of 21 Gospel songs from the 70's, which by the way is great, with fine steel work and older Artists, I remembered having a Christmas tape titled, "A Steel Guitar Christmas". Does anyone know who played on this album? I have scanned a picture of the tape cover with the songs which could be emailed to anyone who wants one. I cant make tapes for everyone, but I could make a couple for a steel historian to analyse if no one knows right off who the artists were. The tape is from 1974. Feel free to email at rcmv@cableone.net.

I guess I should have performed a search prior to posting. There is a post made by Wayne Cox
(listed on the search line as being made by Jim Smith) on Nov. 27, 2002 and it says Jim Baker is the Artist. Thanks, R.C.

Search the forum archives. This subject has come up before and was answered,I just don't remember the answer. Sorry I'm not more helpful. I have the album but there are no names or credits listed on the cover.

The recording is Jim Baker of Nashville (who also had a single with "Moon Walkin'" b/w "Here's Billy", which was a popular DeeJay theme song in the '70's) on most cuts, and Little Roy on perhaps one or two cuts. Maybe someone else can pull their copy to confirm which Little Roy is on as I can't currently access my copy.

Had this one on vinyl and later on a cassette. It's now made its way into my CD collection thanks to my PC and CD-RW.
