Russ & Laney Hicks,& Bob Knight & son,Adam, came to see us,at the "Cowboy Saloon" last night,(8/21) & it was GREAT!!
Laney got up & sang.(GREAT,as she always does). Whatta special treat it is,to back her up on steel! Russ played bass, then later, played my steel. The only thing I'm "teed-off" about is,before he got up & handed it back to me,he wiped off ALL the hot licks he played on it!! I looked,DESPERATELY,for them, but couldn't find 'em. DAMN!!!
Anyway, thanx for comin' in gang,& your welcome back,ANYTIME!!

Hey Smiley....we had a very large time up there...what an absolutely great band!!!Dennis Payne, Becky Hinson, Jim Unger, Chip Hart and of course the one and only SMILES on the Sho-Bud....these guys and gal play at almost studio level; no wonder they sound like the records....mighty good listening. Smileys too kind; he knows I didn't leave anything on his steel that he needs, how-ever, the next time we come up there I'm bringing my own and Smiley and I will "lock horns".
