Check it Sho-Bud fans. The wife just walked in the door with something for my upcoming birthday I'd never seen or heard of before. It's a bonafide Sho-Bud cigarette lighter and it's never had flint in it. I'm having some trouble putting the pictures in the computer for some reason today but it's a beauty and just like new. It's one of the types with the button on top where the lid pops opens to light. On one side it says
Sho-Bud
Guitar Company
Nesbitt Lane
Madison, Tennessee
Compliments of
Shot Jackson-Buddy Emmons
The other side is a picture of a six pedal (the wide ones) D-10 with the emblems on the front. The trouble is I no longer own a Sho-Bud guitar.
Is this cool or what? |

Frank, very cool!! Does it work? I am looking foreward to seeing you and Cathy at the Steel Convention in a few weeks. I was hoping that my girlfriend could go, but she couldn't get off work. I think her and Cathy would get along great, maybe next year. Talk to you soon!

Bob,
The lighter doesn't appear to have ever had flint in it or been lit. Kathy got it across the street at a friends yard sale along with a Pabst Blue Ribbon money clip with an 1890 silver dollar attached to it. One of this gals friends husband was a big steel guitar fan. He never played but had a bunch of steel guitar stuff. I think this was the last thing she had like that to sell. We'll be in St. Louis on Saturday. See you there. |

Hi Frank !
I don't know exactly WHEN your birthday is, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY none-the-less my friend !
And David Donald : I totally agree with you !
Frank, hang on to that wife of yours. I wish MY wife had just a tiny little bit of interrest in - or knowledge about - the steel guitar ! On the other hand, my wife DID hear me play my steel live this weekend, for the first time ever, and she liked what she heard, so who knows - I may have to buy her a steel soon (In my dreams/nightmares)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Frank !
Ole

man that is way cool!
Put it under glass and get some track lighting to focus on it, that is a work of ART! |
