For anyone that has never heard one of those old "wooden", double-8 Rickenbachers, (the competitor in those olden days with the popular Fender dbl-8 Stringmaster) from back in about 1965, there is a good example on "About Ray" on the jerrybyrdfanclub.com site.
This was the Rick, miked thro' an old Fender Bassman 4 x tens, tube amp.
For sound, the little guitar really came thro' in my humble opinion. One doesn't hear much about this model of Rickenbacher but it can hold its own, I'd say.
