Does anyone out there know where I can get a copy of an album by Coy Pereira? The album is entitled "Golden Collection COY PEREIRA - STEEL GUITAR".

Most of the songs are Spanish style such as 'Guantanamera ' Malaguena ' etc. It's played on a Triple 8 custom of some type - I couldn't recognize it from the cover picture.
There is one of Blue Bayou that's played on a pedal guitar.

This album has some great sounds and I have unfortunately lost it. ( Well I think it was taken out of my car while it was in the shop.)

But anyway, I'm not having any luck in finding a rplacement and I would appreciate any help anyone could give me in locating a copy.

Thanks,

Bill

Bill.

I got that album...and i could make you a copy on tape if you like but i am not able to copy it on a cd.
That technology is out of my range.
It's a double album if my memory serves me correct.
If you want a copy just say the word and i will start copying tomorrow.
He used the guitar that you said and there are a few numbers on t that are played on pedal.
Also the Rickenbacker Frypan is used on this album

Hey Guys,

I had one of his Hawaiian LP.s years ago and someone stole it! It was recorded and released on Maple Records. I loved his playing! Alot of heart and feeling in his playing!

I would love a copy of anything I could get on his playing! Please let me know I will gladly pay for it! Thanks!

Guys!

Now think I remember, seems like it was titled "Sentimental Steel Guitar," if my memory is correct? It's been about 20 years!

Thanks!

Terry.

Sentimental steel guitar.....is an album from another steelplayer overhere in The Netherlands and his name is ''Frans Doolaard''.
Coy cannot stand in his shadow when it comes to pedal steel guitar. He also is the first in holland with a selfbuild steel. And then i am not talking about his amp.He had a 10th channel amp so every string went through a different channel...atleast that is what the album said.Frans started overhere in The Netherlands playing with the "Kilima Hawaiians".Coy Pereira took his job wen he left the Kilima's.So they did know eachother...
Both of them are not alive anymore.Frans died of MS and Coy had lungproblems i guess but i am not sure about that.

But maybe i am wrong about it and you have got it right on the steel albums name.
Overhere in Holland they all look alike.Maybe i can look it up later on today and let you know.I am sure that i own an album that has that name on it....either it's Coy or Frans.

I wll let you know..

Hi Guys,

The album that I refer to was released by Maple Records of Canada in 70's. They are no longer in business either.

They produced mostly Hawaiian records. This album had a picture of southseas lady on it. It had some great music on it. One song he played was titled "Moonlight Over Hawaii."

I sure would like to locate that again.

Just started taping the album.
Will ship it of in about 2hours.
Added a little Pedalsteel playing from "Frans Doolaard" if you don't mind.

As I am on a holiday right now, I have to pull this out of my mind: It is on the Maple lable and called The Sentimental Steel Guitar of Coy Pereira, or someting like that.
