It was definitely enjoyment! Beautiful harmonics, too! Amazing what that little thing can do. You must have cleaned up the hiss, because I didn't notice any. Are those units easy to use? I've been trying to do a digital set up and just haven't got it "right" yet. So you recorded everything seperately through the panasonic mic, which was plugged directly into the recorder? Which steel did you use?

Absolutely beautiful Jeff. You've definitely got the touch on the steel. Nice arrangement, good recording quality, excellent musicianship.

BTW you don't need a metronome on the next recording. Your timing "breathes" in a very natural way.

How can such a young guy sound so old? (that's a compliment).

I loved every second of it,- beautiful melody and playing!

And don't forget that Bruce Springsteen recorded 'Nebraska' on a 4-track cassette deck (although he mixed it in a 'proper' studio).
There's also used 4-track digital recorders to be found real cheap should you ever feel the need to 'upgrade'.

Truly beautiful. It really does have that old vibe!

What steel guitar and amp setup did you record that with? The sustain is incredible.

Now there's a "home grown" Hawaiian sound.
Great stuff!!
The Uke rhythm intrigues me also. The players around here ( when they play ) don't sound like that?
Are they four string Jeff and how are you tuning it?
Thanks for the clip.

Great job. ( I knew you could do it)
I have you figured as our man for the new millenium in Hawaii.
Didn't hear any noise from the recorder, and DON"T BE SO MODEST, this stuff is great!!

A star has risen! Altho I havn't heard the track yet, I've been lucky to watch Jeff's fine progress over the short time he's been involved with the steel, and am glad he's young and dedicated to the instrument, and great Hawaiian music in general. We've had lots to enjoy so far, and much to look forward to, as he's certainly got the chops and influences. Keep knockin' us dead, Jeff!

It takes a while to download, but well worth the wait. Beautiful playing, Jeff. It sounds like an old 78, but without the scratches! None of that annoying high frequency artifacting that you hear on most MP3 files.

What ticks me off about your playing is simply this: I've been at it since 1942 and you Jeff are an upstart...yet you play so nahi nahi ! All those years since 1942 have been totally futile and wasted. Good bye cruel world

Good job Jeff -- Like to hear more.
I would like to hear "Kawohikukapulani" by Helen Desha Beamer. This is one of my favorites. I assume you used the guitar you played at Genoa's show.

Jeff...you are much too kind. The good news, I wound the G string around my neck in a gesture of saying goodbye, (all because of you !), but the darned string broke! I can't win no how !

Hello Jeff, Are you able to coax this same beautiful sound from your Fender 800?
