WHO wrote the popular steel guitar instrumental "Georgia Steel Guitar" and what group did he play with at the time? Anybody out there know the answer?
This is a great tune to listen to and LEARN from.......lots of little bar wiggly things that definitely makes your playing a lot more interesting.........AND, makes YOU (Not here in the Portland, OR, area however!!!) even less "predictable". How about that?
Why not give it a listen. It surely won't hurt you by doing so, okay? |

That would be Boots Harris. In 1944 Boots wrote "Georgia Steel Guitar Rag". He recorded it with the Peach Pickers and it became the band's theme song.
I thought bar wiggling besides pedal stomping and screechy volume and reverb settings were a couple things you complained about..
Gotta go. The phone's ringing.
It might be Alvino Rey..

Ok since Eric was nice enough to give some others a chance, I'll say that the original was on Columbia.
I have several 78 rpm records of Curly Williams and the Georgia Peach Pickers.
Will have to get the Bear Family Set.
I play it frequently.
Georgia Steel Guitar was also recorded by Jerry Byrd and by Speedy West.

It's a well known fact: ANYONE who knows me is fully aware that I DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL nor have I, EVER!
Such hostility being displayed here and for what good reason?
