I bought the Steve Young "Renegade Picker" album when it was initially released and still play it to hear Buddy's great steel parts...they are very beautiful. Best regards. ..jeff bradshaw

If you love that one try to find Roger Miller's "A trip in the country" it is worth the search.

"Renegade Picker" is a great album, and Steve Young was and is one of the most important voices in country music. Wonderful writing, beautiful singing, and great steel guitar.

Jemig, wat goed zeg!

Jelle, Thanks a stack for posting this. I never knew these recordings were available in Holland.
Are there any other "nostalgia" recordings available? Is there a website where I can buy these? I remember listening to Hilversum radio hearing Rudy Wairata LIVE with the Kilima's. I didn't care too much for Frans van Oirschot and Frans Dolaard. In addition I could not find any material of Coy Pereira. Strangely enough, I seem to like the indigenous Indonesian players most.
(I wish I had taken up a friends' offer to meet George de Fretes in 1958)
Anyway thanks again!

I was listening to Renegade Picker last evening - sounds as up to date as if it were made yesterday.

Whatever happened to Steve Young?

I have talked to Steve Young on the phone and via email. He is still in LA, but he is contemplating a move to South Texas. He is doing well and is interested in recording a new album He is a legend for sure...
