This is the site that will play most of a tune I played steel on this summer. The whole CD is available for purchase. The CD is pretty much all "theater" rock, ala Meatloaf, Tommy, Rocky Horror Picture Show, etc...hope you enjoy it!

Thanks so much, guys...up to this point, almost all session work I have been doing has been "eclectic" folk. I have a demo doing some contemporary country (covers, not originals), but this is my first attempt at an original country tune. I thank you for your kind comments! I've done a few more sessions in the past couple of months, and when they come out, I'll post the site to hear 'em here. They're folk-oriented, but really interesting. |

Hi Sandy,
About three years ago I had Tommy Cass do
some work on a Sho-Bud for me and I saw a
white Emmons I think he was working on for you.
Is that the guitar I am hearing on this great intro ?
Thanks, John |

Yep, that's the one! I saved up for a long time to get this guitar. I fell in love with the sound and the look of this pretty D10. Tommy does a great job with these guitars; in fact, I'm planning to get out to Gardner within the next few days for a "tune-up". I hope to be playing for a long, long time on this Emmons. |

Sandy now I remember who you are.I was at Frank Caruso's steel show about 4 to 5 years ago and you were tuning up and when you got through Tommy Cass was standing there with his foot on your A pedal and then he asked you if it was in tune and you said yes. he said check it again and it was off because he had his foot on the A pedal. You played Mansion on the Hill and you were a little nervous but you did a fine job on it.That was my Freid John Jaicovelli's favoret song. He passed away a few months ago.God bless him and his Wife marie. You just did a great job on the CD.If Tony Palmer has another steel show you should bring your steel and play it along with all of us.Elaine can play bass while you play Steel.

Thank you for your kind words, Sam! Yeah, I remember that incident with Tommy (laugh!)...I haven't done very much public playing on steel. I do my live work on bass, or doing the Patsy Cline show. I get a fair amount of studio work, once or twice a month, and practice every day. Presently I'm studying with Henley Douglas, the fabulous sax player with the Heavy Metal Horns...he's a heavy duty jazz player, and a terrific teacher. I also work with Jeff Neman material -- I just did a Top Gun week with him last September. I was devastated by the news of his death, as were so many people who knew him.
In the meantime, I'll just keep pluggin' away. I make my living playing bass, but the steel guitar has stolen my heart. My next big goal is to record a solo album, but I'm afraid that won't be for awhile. There's so much to learn! Wish I had hours a day to practice, like being a teenager again...too bad I didn't start this thing until I was 40 years old....better late than never!!! |

I have to say, it's so gratifying to get positive feedback here. Ya'll are so supportive, and it's nice to know that there are friendly, helping steelers out there who know what it takes to get to a point where one can make any decent sound on this instrument. Thanks for the nice words, fellas...it matters! ![](http://steelguitarforum.com/biggrin.gif) |
