I will be having a little jam in Mattapoiset Sat July 10th. (edited)
Not far from you.
It will be country, but also some jazz, blues or what ever we think to play.
David Derantany is bringing his Mileneum.
And I have invited Tommy Cass with several PP's at his disposal, to come down. He is coming, maybe with a Blacl PP.[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 02 July 2004 at 03:12 AM.] |

To Bill Fall:
Thanks for your response. I guess I'm looking to join a group that jams somewhere close to the Cape.
For the last several years, about five guys or so, jam in someone's basement once a week and it's great. I would like to expand that activity.

To Len Amaral: Thank you for your reply.
Are you currently jamming there? If so, I would like to join in. If not, could you get a few pickers and singers together?

Well it looks like 3 steels and 4 steelers and a few other instruments in the mix.
Two David's, plus Tommy Cass, and Mac McKee
Still playing it by ear.[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 26 June 2004 at 10:23 AM.] |

It will be the saturday July 10th. 4pm.
At this time Mac, Tommy, Chris, Dave and me are steelers.
5 steellers 4 steels, but I double other instruments anyway : electric anc acoustic mandolin's, bass and guitar.
Also a country rock guitarist singer, a jazz guitarist, who can play anything, a serious piano player should be there, and I think a very quiet drummer too.
It is by invitation, because it is my sisters place not mine, I think 10 players max no matter what.
But you can call and ask for me after July 5th at 508-758-2286
Len, I haven't heard from you since your post.
Not originally a " steel Jam", but turning that direction anyway. |

No, though I would like to play with Mike some time.
This cat is John Joy, he is a GIT grad, from 15 year ago. He studdied a bit with Robin Ford, Larry Carlton, Jay Graydon and others.
He has an original album I play on coming out momentarily. I recorded and played on a few tracks here, and he finished more over there.
We were in a wedding band doing realbook tunes at Stanley Clark/Billy Cobham/Al DeMeola/Coryell stuff 25 years ago.
Dave Ristrim would have been the perfect steeler for this group.
it was called :
Johnny, Polly, Esther And Those Fanbulous Leisure Suits
Maybe there is another drummer coming too. A private studfent of Alan Dawson's for 8 years... yeah he can play too.[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 02 July 2004 at 07:32 AM.] |

Got room for a newbie? I'm new to the PSG and need to see some pickers up close. Probably can't add much to the jam, but might want to take a shot. I've got a new Steel (GFI S10) plus the Fender 400 Tommy sold me, practice amp and a kitchen chair.

Well I got in, many hours and 3 body and bag searches later.
Thankfully no cavity searches....
They did have to take my Twister, Black Phoenix bars and Propicks off to the supervisor to be OK'd. I put them, on demonstrated and the kid STILL didn't get it.
But they did NOT break or shake the 1964 Chateau Margaux wine I had in one bag... whooh!
6 hour layover in Paris that was unexpected... DUH.
One of my players WIll make it in spite of being ready to have a baby any minute.
The jazz guitarist said he loves Jimmy Bryant, Toy Cauldwell, and likes country, so that works.
I will be here checking regularly.
And expect to see John McGann and the Wayfairing Strangers tomorrow. COOL
Dave said John might want to come too.
I can be contacted at 508-758-2286 ask for me, there are lots of people in the house, plus 3 under 2 years, so it is a bit of a zoo.[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 06 July 2004 at 07:30 PM.] |

Smiley, yes it is. It's a great place to see live music. I saw Buddy and the Everly Brothers there a couple of years ago and it couldn't have been better! |

Jim and Chris, I haven't heard from you.
Just heard from Ben while typing this.
I have a nice little group now, but if your a wanting too, I got a bit more room.
No drummer at the moment, but he must be a quiet drummer.
Call, sk for me,leave a number,
but keep it short except with me on the phone...
less in house confusion.
