I got my sidekick back in '93 or '94 from Ken and it still looks new and in great shape even after riding in buss bays for a few years. I don't know the price but they are worth every penney he gets for them. Very well built! ESnow

These seats are the greatest, I have the Pro Sidekick with the backrest and power strip and it is extremely comfortable with the extra side stash unit (you dont have to get up) just unlatch it and get a different bar or set of strings or whatever. Ken Rollans and his boys make em right and built to last.

My good friend Dewitt Scott sells "Steelers Choice". www.scottysmusic.com . The website has some good pictures of the seat. When I talked with him a month ago, he said Kenny was about 4 months behind on orders but Scotty may have his by now.
I have a Steelers Choice and I love it. JD

Thanks guys. I may have to wait till I can find a used one.
On Scotty's website, it says add $5 for cloth. what are they made out of? and what is a power strip?

Kevin, the term "cheap" don't necessarilly mean - of low quality. that's not the way I meant it.
Maybe I should have said, where would be the best place to get one of these seats, for a man on a fixed income.

I'm so cheap, I'm still using my old ACE seat that I bought back in the mid 1970's.

I have one of Kenny's early seats. Circa 1979 or so. Still looks brand new. And Kenny is a real gentleman and a very good player as well. As others have already said, "Worth every penny."

I deliberated over it for years, "trying them on" at Scotty's and Lexington. Finally, last year at Scotty's I got tired of walking by that ATM in the hotel lobby so I decided to stop. Then, with all that cash, what was I to do? Well, part of what I did was went right to Steeler's Choice and got my wired sidekick from Kenn's son Dan. I was driving so hauling it back was not a problem. Dan just cut a couple of holes in the box to serve as handles.

Mine is great. Built like a truck! Not cheap but worth every penny. I had one other Rollans seat I sat on it for over 10 years before I upgraded. I still have that seat ..it is my spare.

Call Kenn and get ya one. I picked up mine at his home ...what a super nice guy.... a good picker too!!!

Yes, Kenn's seats are definitely built for a lifetime of use and comfort. I've had two since 1993, one for me and one for a student. My wife's father who is retired and makes leather acceseries, braided bracelets, dog collars, etc, came by for a visit one day, saw my Steelers Choice Sidekick and liked it so much that I let him take it home. He uses it to sit on in front of his favorite window while working on leather crafts. The inside provides ample storage for his leather and small tools and when he's finshed, he just folds everything up and puts the seat away. Oh yea, he agrees with me that it's the most comfortable seat he's ever used. Thanks, Kenn, for always building a great quality seat and most importantly, at a very fair price.

Ken Rollans goes the extra mile to help a customer.
Cheap is what you wish you had added a few coins to in order to get something of good value.
I don't know what other manufacturers are selling their products for but Ken builds a product that you'll be proud of.

Terry, I've been setting my big rear on a "Steelers Choice" seat now for about 4 years and it is the best seat I ever sat on. I highly recommend one. Call Ken or visit him at a show. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He plays steel so he know about comfort. Just a little note, if you are not used to a seat with a back rest, it takes a little getting used to. At least it did me. They are great and worth the money.
