Hey Steel Lovers!
I went to a whale of a concert last night with a few friends over at Ft. Scott, KS.
Hank Thompson was singing as good as when I firt heard him. Of course he's slowing down a bit in the Autumn of life. I recommend you catch him soon.
Dave Musgrave was playing his Emmons Steel and man he sounded great! The other musicians were all top-flight players. I am really glad that I got to see their show.
Dave picked the tune from American Bandstand, they were playing it in three parts with great Marvin Bradymeyer on swing fiddle and Dwayne Bowman on guitar. Guys it was swingin'. Dwayne is singing as good as I ever heard him in 30 years. It's a great show on Saturday nights, Ft. Scott, KS.
Hank is still cuttin' it. Just like the tune he sings, "The Older The Violin The Sweeter The Music." A true American Legend and a very Gracious man!
GOD bless you all and Hank!
Woody

Glad to hear that the show went well. I filled in for Dave last weekend and had a ball playing with the group. Would have loved to have rode down with Dave for the show, but I had to play at Bob Riley's yearly fourth of July jam. Terry, hope to hear you pick around Springfield sometime in the near future |

I had the pleasure of doing the Steel chores for Hank for a personal appearance in Chesapeake/Va Beach area in the late 90s. He was indeed a pro at what he does and a more gracious and likable person you never meet. He can sure play that big Gibson guitar he carries around too.
Happy Trails...
