A friend of mine (female) is looking to get a few pedal steel lessons while she lives in Manhattan this summer. She's a quick learner and knows a little music so it shouldn't be too difficult.
Email me if you're interested and I'll pass it along. |

Look up Bob Hoffnar here on the forum, or at the Carter website's lessons link. He gives one on one lessons that are reasonable and effective. He'd probably be the person almost everybody would send her to.
You should also look up Jon Graboff, if he's in town he's a good guy, and a good player who gives lessons as well, you can email him at greymanesq@aol.com[This message was edited by Nicholas Dedring on 24 June 2004 at 03:12 PM.] |

I thought of Bob but she doesn't have a car and probably would be looking for someone right in the city.
Although, he probably could stop by her place before one of his infamous NYC gigs
(gotta catch one of those sometime...!) |

I took some lessons from a guy named Brad Catler in the East Village (near Tompkins Square Park) in 1996. He's probably still in New York somewhere. I remember his brother used to work at Manny's on 48th Street, so that might be a place to start looking for him.
