String guages for Bakelite Ric

Just bought a late 40's or early 50's B6, and would like to tune it to B6, ie, a half tone lower than C6, except the sixth string would be tuned to D. This tuning would correspond to the E9th pedal steel tuning, with the E's lowered, strings 9 to 4. Any recommendations for string guages? Since the scale is shorter than my Emmons S10, I know that the guages should be beefed up a bit. And since there are no raises or lowers happening, maybe the strings can, or should be heavier. Any suggestions?....Jerry

Thanks for the replies. But does somebody have any hands on info on how they string their B6? The Joe Ely page is a great resource, but I'm looking for string guages specifically for the B6 guitar. If somebody tunes theirs to C6, that's close enough for me....
