Hello,

I now have my pedal steel (thank you Skip Mertz). I can make it sound like a pedal steel in a cheesy three-chord song I wrote. I can only vaguely solo on one string, because when I hit the pedal, all hell breaks loose with my scale memory.

I live in Northwest New Jersey, and I learn from watching other people play. At least I have with guitar, piano, drums, and the like.

Can anyone help me find someone who can provide lessons in northern NJ? I'm loving playing, but I need a mentor and at least a bit of help from God before I can even think of putting this thing on a stage--even if that stage is my own back deck at my own party after all but 3 people have left.

Thanks,

Alan
