It must have been 1970 or 1971, before I bought my first lap steel. I had my Thanksgiving dinner at a mission in San Francisco, I think it was the Salvation Army. There was a band, and the band had a steel player. He talked to me a bit while he played sound effects - chicken noises, laughter. I was fascinated.
Does this gig ring a bell with anyone here? I'd like to know who it was, just so I can thank him for nudging my life's path in this direction.
You never know how your life will influence others. I try to always project a positive message, in hopes that the ripple effect will change the world for the better. That steel guitarist may have set the wheels in motion that ultimately resulted in this Forum. Imagine that!
