I want to meet some steel players around Indy. I am a fan of the thing & even have a lap steel. I would love to play some country & western swing as a sideman on bass or guitar.

I've met a couple but they are already occupied with other projects.

Mike come on over and get exposed to a lot of steel for two days and you will also meet several steel players that are from the INDY area. It would be a good time for you to see the show as well as meet some local artists.

By all means come to this show! I was there last year and plan on returning again this year, but don't let that keep you away!
You will hear some outstanding players and they will all be "Giving praises to the Lord on an instrument of 10 strings"!!!!

Mike,

I agree with Doug come to the Gospel Steel Guitar Show this weekend.

I lived in Indy for about 7 years altogether. It is where I learned how to play Pedal Steel thanks to a guys like Tom Sosbe and Jack Schrader over in Columbus. Early on I was exposed to Indy Steel Players like Don E. Curtis (Before he moved to ST Louis to work at Scotty's. In facxt I bought my FIRST pedal Steel from Don) Also Gene Mundie, Don Engle, Herb Clarkson, and others. Don't forget that Gary Pugh plays down in Nashville, IN at the opry there.

If you listen to the Bob and Tom Show or have been to Beef & Boards Theatre you have heard my buddy Michael Clark. He is in the Bob and Tom Show band. A good steel player and all around guitar stylist.

You are lucky there is alot of opportunity in that town to play and learn from some nice guys. I loved living there. Hope to see you at the Gospel Steel Guitar Show. It is a WONDERFUL time!!!

Regards,

Tim Harr
