Went to Branson this week and caught the Paul Harris show with Terry on the steel. It was great. Paul doesnt mind what neck Terry plays on as long as he plays. He played alot on C6th. It was nice to see a show where the main act lets the band play. I would truely say that this is a muscians show. The comedy is great along with the singers but the band really has the opportunity to let loose and play. Terri was playing his first Bethel guitar that was built. Terri also did a fine job on the dobro. If you get a chance to go to Branson, I recommend the Paul Harris show this year. Also word has it that the Bethel guitar will go into production again. An excellent guitar, mechanically and a fine sound. |

Hi Joe, are you related to the discjockey Ed Finley? If so is he still around? Haven't heard from him in a long time.
Yes Terry is a super picker on steel, and he also player fine guitar. I've known Terry from back in the mid 60's from Minneapolis,Mn.[This message was edited by Tony Farr on 19 March 2004 at 04:04 AM.] |

I've known Terry since we first met in Wheeling, in the early '60's. I was working the Wheeling Jamboree and Terry was working a nightclub up on the hill with Claude Gray, if my memory is correct about the artist! Always a fine player, and produces a great Bethel Steel!

Thanks everybody for the nice words. It is appreciated.
Paul Harris likes it when you play yourself out on that limb, and then try to get back. He is an incredible person as well as a great entertainer.
Yes the Bethel Steel will be back in production soon. We are getting everything together now.
If you come to Branson, call me and we'll have coffee, my number is in the book.

Terry,
In following up with Big John's post, are you still manufacturing Bethel Steel Guitars? I was wondering if you have someone else building them now since Dick Miller passed away. Dick was a master guitar builder! The Bethel's were great guitars. The ones I tried out always played very smooth. Nick[This message was edited by Nick Reed on 28 March 2004 at 01:26 PM.] |

We will be manufacturing the Bethel Steel Guitar shortly. Dick Miller's baby will be born again. We are keeping Dick's ideas and throwing in a couple of our own. They will be built in Hollister, MO. The first one will be on the floor and playable around June 1st. If it is sooner we will let everyone know via the Forum.
The cabinets will be made by a great dobro builder here in the Ozarks. His name is Bob Bray. Mr. Dean Holman is currently playing one, (Dobro that is)!!!
