If ther was a Steel Guitar FORUM Hall of Fame, who would you like so see inducted?

I'll start with:
1. Tom Bradshaw for his promotion, and support of the Steel Guitar and Steel Players.

2. Dewitt Scott for promoting the Steel Guitar and bringing us the yearly Steel Guitar Convention.

3. Bobby Lee Quasar for giving us the Steel Guitar Forum and bring together friends from all over the world.

Bobby Lee gets my vote all the way!
Truthfully, I think he's done as much or more for the promotion and friendship of steel guitarists than anyone else I have known.

Scotty and Tom too have done so much to promote the instrument that we all love!

There is an episode of the old Zorro TV series where 2 enemies (both of whome are good guys who only hate each other because they have been manupilated by the bad guy) are shackeled, about 10 feet from each other, and each has the key to the other's chains.

The only way either of them can be free is if they work out their differences and trust each other. Of course, by the end of the episode, they are allies, and together (with Zorro's help) they get the bad guy.

I'd like to put Reece and Tom in that position. That these guys who were once best friends, have become so estranged from each other, is a tragedy that has to some degree affected our entire community. There are few things that would make me happier than to see these two settle their differences once and for all and resume their friendship.

My nominees would be our moderators, who rarely receive any credit for logging in every day and monitoring all of this activity. It's a job as thankless as herding cats.

I´d nominate Ricky Davis, who is a moderator BTW, for always giving real valid advice to anyone who asks and being the kind of person he is and someone who really knows what he´s talking about and not to forget, a mighty fine picker, too. (And for always putting up the pics of those beautiful ShoBuds he´s restored for us to drool over!)

Soo... Mike..

Who might this Bad Guy be..?

I was thinking more like a particular Star Trek Episode where Garth took over an interstellar insane asylum..

Maybe not..

I did kind of like Zorro, even though he cryptically represented the Zapatistas..

Kids don't seem to get all the proper nuances...

Eric, I'll send you an E-mail with that information. Unless I'm mistaken, Zorro did not play the steel guitar.

Well b0b gets the Jimmy Rogers Award
for being the Father of Steel internet communication.

I second Ricky Davis, and Jeff Lampert for sure.

Carl Dixon for ALWAYS there helping the newbies ; no question is too dumb for Carl not to give a well considered answer.

Jody Carver as Master of Memory Lane

HowardR as the resident wag and tension breaker.
Jim Cohen for much of the same as Howard.

Paul Franklin for responding to so many posts, and in such a kind and lucid manner.

Donna, AMOK and Tony D, for interrnational humor.
And the ladies again, for keeping us gentlemen.

Donald writes and I quote the Big "D"

Jody Carver as Master of Memory Lane...not so

AL MARCUS deserves that honor more so than I
Al in my opinion is the "Chairman Of The Board" of this Forum.

His retail experience and great innovative style of steel guitar expertise and the fact
that in addition to all this, is one wonderful man. The CEO of Steel Guitar and I
pass on my deserving of Master Of Memory Lane

That title belongs to AL.He was there before anyone of us on this Forum.

David Thank you anyway,,good try .

Al Marcus is the man, not I. edited for spelling.

Yes I was a bit tired and didn't complete mythought train. I have had the flu for 2 weeks.

Yes Al Marcus for sure. But Jody still gets an honorable mention.

There is another fellow who is always doing these "Who is this steeler" theads.
Very well researched and informative.
But my brain isn't mkaing this name connection at the moment. ( i'll edit when it pops into conciousness.)

Also Ed Packard has contributed some highly in depth analysis. He seems to be starting another.

And I had wanted to add the no pedalers theory mavens ;

At this time I'd like to thank all of my friend at The Steel Guitar Forum for this wonderful, wondeful award that I strived so hard for. This is no small feet and I couldn't have done it without all of my supporters. Athletic or otherwise.

I would also like to give thanks to all of those who have come before me, and left behind me. Particularly the flounder of the steel guitar, the native Hawaiian, Joeseph Kekuku, who having slid the first railroad nail across the strings, would never in his life imagined the great deapths that I have managed to drive this art to. And to Joeseph, I am ever grapefruit....er, gratefull.

Good night and get home safe.

I'd have to go for Smiley Roberts too as he's suffered a lot of abuse on this Forum and taken it all in stride. After hearing him play at Scotty's a couple of years ago he's damn sure got the chops for any HOF...Later dudes and dudesses...JH
