Curtis Potter and Carl Vaughn are names that have really revitalized me for country music.
Whether anyone in a position to do so would ever play their music, it's doubtful, what with all the old time DJ's gone for decades.
What great voices, great sounding records and virtually everything you and I would want to listen to.........
What to do?..... |

We're not gone Ray, just put out to pasture and replaced with cheaper labor and automation. A lot of us older jocks would love to get back in the saddle again. Why don't you start your own station and hire some of us? (just kidding, ----or am I ? )

Why not hit up Roy Clark, Hank Thompson or Buck Owens........who own radio stations. Maybe they might be willing to go against the grain just to prove a point, that their music and OURS, is not dead. Kinda like the old station down in Del Rio Texas did for decades. Perhaps they might turn the night time hours into "OUR MUSIC"..........
We need a rebel to get it off the ground and rolling...... There should be at least one here in the Forum that would accept that challenge, like Rick Aileo has done with the pickup scene, etc.
There's a big market out there waiting to hear "our kind of music" that has all but vanished because of the new modern day exec's running these R & R Based stations. What say you? |
