Chart Records was one of those "sidekick" labels to the big reord companies (in this case RCA) in the late 60's and early 70's. They had a lot of records out with either new upcoming artists or some older ones who, for what reason ever, never made it really big. Artists who recorded for Chart Records include:

Lynn Anderson (that's her early stuff!)
Connie Eaton
Lawanda Lindsey
Kenny Vernon
Dave Peel
Gordon Terry
Maxine Brown
Johnny Dollar
Jim Nesbitt

...and of course Lloyd himself (Cool Steel Man", "Mr. Nashville Sound")

Lloyd's playing can be heard on most of the Chart albums (he also was the producer on some of them). His playing on these records is so unbelievably creative and tasty, that's some of the finest back-up work I ever heard. These records will always remain on my personal list all time favorites!

If you ever happen to run across one of these old records, grab it!

Regards, Walter

Thanks Walter, and Gibson! Lloyd Green has got to be one of my alltime favorites. He gets "the sound" that gets you hooked. I will be adding some of these recordings to my collection very soon.

The downloads for Lloyd wouldn't go. In fact the download box just flashed and flashed and flashed. I had to reboot to get it to stop. I tried some with other artists and no problem.

Folks, you all should take a look at this terrific CHART website (especially those who love Lloyd Green, that means all of you, right?) Great site with tons of info!

Craig, the downloads work with me, but some of them open in RealOne player, some in Windows Media (don't know why), if you have only one of the two on your PC, probably that's what causes the problem.

Kind Regards, Walter

And also great sound samples!

Listen to Dave Peel's version of the old Fats Domino song "I'm Walkin'". Lloyd's playing will knock you off!
