Saw the Opry tonight and expected to see Allan Love with Wariner, but instead was a guy with a black Emmons doing some cool C6 stuff on his E9 neck. He was very comfortable in his playing. Who is this guy?

I too, would like to know who Steve Wariner's steel player was on the Opry. I just became an even more so fan of Steve Wariner because he turned the steel loose for a couple of solos on one tune. I think Steve must like the steel.

I heard that fine playing too! Maybe Tommy W could help us out on this one?
Steve does like steel. I remember when the song "Holes in the Floor of Heaven" won single of the year, or the like, he thanked Sonny Garrish! Awesome!

Hey mystery steel player, are you out there?
Please identify yourself. You are a fine player.

I guess Steve DOES like steel......my old union book shows steel as one of his instruments....one of the nice guys who never got the credit he deserves. If you have a chance to see the video of " Ride With Bob", you'll see and hear a killer twin ride with Vince on the first cut that'll set you on your 'you know what'.

I loved the song he did about Texas Bluebonnets. Had kind of a swing beat to it. Great lyrics too.

Speaking of Texas Bluebonnets...

Laurie Lewis who is actually more a bluegrass artist, did a great version of that song, classic Western Swing, with Buddy Emmons cookin'!

Looked like D. Travis Toy to me - Formerly with Bryan White and Patty Loveless. Awesome talent!

Mystery solved! A week ago I saw the same guy backing Patti Loveless on taped show of the Mountain Stage.
