I just saw a special on CMT with Kid Rock and Hank Jr. Who was that steel player?

Mike Daly . He's been Hank's steeler for a number of years and, actually , has done a bit of recording with Kid Rock too. Mike also is the steel guy in the Pat Green Band and has worked tons of session/showcase/demo/band stuff (Gibson-Miller, Allison Moorer, ) in Nashville since the late 80's. He's a real flexible kind of player, insofar as, the stuff he plays can work as a kind of keyboard texture, he can rock out with all kinds of abandon, and yet he also can deliver the classic pretty steel stuff too - check out his work with Mandy Barnett on the "Slowly" remake from the Webb Pierce tribute record from a couple of years back.

I've heard Mike at the Exit Inn a couple of times - a nice player!
