Many of you have seen the EBAY listing/pictures of this historicly owned instrument from my previous 'No Peddlers' post. I'm posting this time at the request of the present, and long time owner(Chris) who is seeking help/info towards placing this piece in an institution befitting of our lost hero Speedy West, be it the Smithsonian, Autry Museum, or similar. He would appreciate hearing from those of you who know the proper procedures in notifying the institutions and persons towards it's existance and availability. This item has in fact been relisted on EBAY for a 3 day run with a reserve and may not be sold. |

I could look into the Autry Museum thing because it's in my neighborhood and my band (The Riders Of The Purple Sage)plays there from time to time. It may take a few days to get a hold of anyone on any kind of decision making level because of the Thanksgiving holidays, etc. I'd like to see that guitar in there. -MJ- |

Go to the Autry Museums Web page and click on FAQ's scroll down until it says "Can I donate an item to the museum". Click, That takes you to the answer and an email link to describe what you'd like to donate. I personally think that is a fantastic resting spot for that steel. I think Mr West would really approve. |
