Not being able to play the steel, but having had one in the band for years. I would think that Misty Blue would be a great song for a Steel instrumental. Anyone ever done it as such?

I've not done that old Eddy Arnold song as an instrumental yet, but I agree it's a great song! One of the female singers that I used to work with did it a few times, and I enjoyed taking the ride, Hughey-style ('way up on them "fine wires" ) I always liked the Wilma Burgess cover of that song, best. (Back in the late '60's, I believe.) |

Donny,
I may be wrong, but I believe Wilma had the original, not the cover,on "Misty Blue".

I'm not sure but I thought it was an old pop song that E.A. and W.B. cut. Also, Billie Jo Spears had a fine cut on "Misty Blue".
It is a beautifull melody and I've thought about cutting it a couple of times but for some reason I always baked out. I might just rethink it.

Beautiful tune! I played on the ACE CANNON instrumental version of it. Hmmm....maybe I should've kept my mouth shut. That was a long time ago and I don't remember if I did good or not. Oh well,ACE played it beautifully anyway.
