I stumbled across this photo and caption during an internet search. I wonder if Joe Louis could really play steel guitar?

Wow, FAR OUT coincidence. That photo is from the cover of an early 50's copy of Fretted Instrument News. I have a collection of those, and when I saw the photo last night while cleaning out a bunch of my accumulated steel crap, I thought "that would look cool on the Forum." I didn't bother to scan it though, since I was busy doing other stuff.

Great minds travel in the same direction, occasionally.

Not only did Joe Louis play steel, he played it with boxing gloves on.
