How come the odd-numbered tracks on so many steel albums are so much better than the even-numbered ones? Murph, Buddy Emmons Live '77, Jazz by Jernigan, Steel Guitar Favorites by Gary Carpenter, etc. Wouldn't it be more merciful just to put all the flash at the start and the filler at the end?

They do (on most all records and CD's) tend to make the first track the best...that's just common sense. But after that, I really don't notice any real difference in the programming order. At least, on steel CD's, we get more than one good song!
