I live in Columbus Indiana, which tries to lay claim to a lot of accomplishments. In my opinion the rest pale in comparison to the fact that Gregg Galbraith, guitarist of unreal ability, is from here.
I had the pleasure of talking to Gregg earlier this week and it became apparent to me, again, why I am a weekend warrior and a guy like Gregg is a top class guitar player as well as great guy. He played with Emmons and Rugg at the rcent St. Louis Convention and has lately been working with John Hughey, not to mention he is Paul Franklin's brother in-law (Hi Theresa, sorry you couldn't make the last trip to Columbus).
Gregg is the preferred guitarist for a number pedal steel player guys and as far as I am concerned, Columbus Indiana's claim to fame!
Just wanted to put in a good word for a guy I think is one of the best and that I like to think of as a personal friend.[This message was edited by Garry Pugh on 19 September 2003 at 11:44 AM.] |

Besides the well-known fact of him being a premiere guitarist and great guy, is the lesser known fact of him being a collector of fine wine .

There are very few guitar players on this earth that are as great as Greg. He has a touch second to none.
When you see Buddy Emmons on a stage and Greg backing him up, that dear friends aint no coincidence. Buddy KNOWS what will make him sound the best. Same reason you see David Smith and all the rest that embellish Buddy's playing.
A tip of carl's hat to Greg for all he has done. And a finer gentleman never graced the stage as he effortlessly dazzles us with his incredible wizzardry. Right Theresa? Yes I love you too precious lady. AND your dear brother also

I met Greg in the late 1960's. He was working with George Hamilton IV. I immediately became a fan of his. He is one great guitar player, and a great person, also. I also consider him a dear friend. Greg, you've expanded your fan base to probably all over the world.
