Orville, I read over at the J. Douglas Forum that you have a Weissenborn-style guitar made from Yellow Cedar? By that did you mean Alaskan Yellow Cedar? (actually a Cypress) What are the back and sides?
I have a Weiss-sized AYC top set that I've been wanting to pair up with some quilted Mahogany and was looking for some 'thumbs up' comments on it's tone before committing to it.

yes my guitar is alaskan yellow cedar AKA pacific cypress. the whole thing, back, sides and top. the fretboard is some reddish mexican wood that i can never recall the name of, but otherwise it's all cedar. i love the way it sounds. compared to the koa bear creeks i've played it has a richer low end and not as much brightness (or perhaps harshness) in the highs. i like the extra low end i get which makes it not as good for live acoustic playing cuz it won't cut thru a bunch of other guitars playing but it sounds great on tape which is what i mostly use it for. it sounds more similar to original weissenborns i've played to me.
