Was Billy Playing at the convention this year? He is always a favorite of mine both in St. Louis and Texas. It amaz'es me the way he gets so much stuff out of a no pedal steel.

By the way, If you haven't seen Billy's artwork, you're missing something. His exhibit was on display in the Derby Room for the weekend. Don't know if he has a website, but his latest abstract of a steel player is quite compelling! And all of them are upbeat & make you smile. I'm looking at the wHankU piece in my office as I'm writing this. Very whimsical, colorful and clever! Good stuff! I can never get too many smiles in one day.

Billy did play the big stage with Lynn Owsley on Friday night --closed the show. Among other tunes, they got together on their "Legends of Steel Guitar" thing. I always get a kick out of that.
