Mooney Dobro Tunning Q's

I would to play around with this tunning.
It's a Mooney Tunning. Has it been tried
on Dobro?? 8 Strings C# D E F# G# B E
G#. I will have to do some research on the gages for Dobro. The 1 St String G# (.012) will probably be to thin for Dobro. I'm
wanting to play around with that G# on top.
Has this been discussed before????

Shot Jackson used a variation of that tuning, but don't recall him using a high G#
