I have a couple of 6 string Reso's and they have different string spacing ...My Regal RD-45 has a string spacing of 2 1/4 from the first to the 6th string...My Tut Taylor Virginian has string spacing of 2 1/8...I find it easier to get around on my Regal, but enjoy the tone of the Tut ... Do any of the higher quality companies make spacing 2 1/4 like my Regal ??...I actually LOVE the tone I get from both Reso's, but the Tut is just a little bit more refined and a little sweeter...The Regal belts it out , and sounds great in it's own right !!!....Great Reso for the $$$...Thanks for your help....Jim

The narrower spacing on the Virginian is more standard, like the original Dobros, I think. But, within limits, a good guitar tech could cut you a new brige saddle and/or nut with the spacing you prefer.
