Did any of you guys snag that 8 string Magnatone on Ebay the other day?

That thing looked pretty cool for the money.

Just curious

It looked like a 6 string model that had extra strings added to the outside. The lowest bass string on the outside wasn't even on the bridge nor did I see a cut for it (was the seller even playing it?). If it was a 6 string model, did they cut a closer string spacing cut for the nut? Are the outside strings outside of the pickup ends? Too many if's for me to be interested.

Hey Jesse,

My guess was that it was made an 8 string at the factory with the 6 string body. Since all the tuning pegs match and there didn't appear to be any altering to the headstock, I figured it wasn't modified. If I was going to bid on it, I would have asked for the string spacing.

Anyway, I'm not much for MOTS, but I dig the look of that thing. Besides, it's sold.
